We are delighted to announce that Professor Ashley Moffett has been awarded Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George in the King's New Year's Honours.

Professor Ashley Moffett, Professor of Reproductive Immunology at the University of Cambridge, was awarded the prestigious CMP for services to Women’s Reproductive Health and Clinical Research and Practice in Africa. A Fellow of King's College, she is the foremost international authority on the immunology of human reproduction. Her work on genetic research has helped explain high rates of pre-eclampsia and maternal mortality in Ugandan populations. She is a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

Originally bestowed solely upon those in high positions in the Mediterranean, the Order of St. Michael and St. George now recognises service in a foreign country or about foreign and Commonwealth affairs, for example, the work of foreign service officers and diplomats.
