Toxoplasma gondii: an obligate intracellular protozoal parasite.

Toxoplasma gondii is a globally distributed parasite that infects virtually all warm-blooded animals and causes significant opportunistic disease in humans. It is an obligate intracellular pathogen and a member of the phylum Apicomplexa with notable relatives being Plasmodium spp.

Our work focuses on the host-parasite interaction using genetic and cell biology based methods to investigate gene expression and signaling changes in both the host and parasite.
